VOICES PRODUCTIONS was founded by Pascale Solages, a Haitian feminist activist, creator and media producer, whose life and work have been dedicated to advancing women’s rights and amplifying marginalized voices. She’s an artist who uses every tool, every medium, and every resource she can mobilize to create work that tells stories and contributes to social transformation. For her, media and art have always been a political space.
Her journey in media began at a young age. At only 19 years old, she entered the National Television in Haiti as a presenter and producer. Very early on, she understood the power of the media to mobilize communities, challenge dominant narratives, and give visibility to those who had historically been silenced or excluded.
She went on to work with several national and international media like Radio Télévision Caraïbes, Radio Magik9, Tele Haiti and Guadeloupe La Première. She defied traditional media codes by using journalism, television, radio, and audiovisual production to center communities that were often absent from mainstream representation. Through her microphone, her camera, and her work as a producer, executive producer, director, and presenter, she brought visibility to realities that were ignored or erased. She created spaces within the media for women survivors of violence, women living in prostitution, people living with HIV, incarcerated women, LGBTQI+ communities, elderly populations and other marginalized communities whose stories were rarely treated with dignity or complexity.
In 2009, she co-founded a production company specializing in music videos, documentaries, communication campaigns, commercials, and audiovisual productions for international organizations, public institutions, and a wide range of clients in Haiti and abroad. This experience allowed her to develop strong expertise in creative direction, production management, visual storytelling, and media production.
She began producing artistic and socially engaged short films, particularly after co-founding her feminist organization. In 2018, she started directing her first documentary on feminicides in Haiti. Today, she is also developing a second documentary focused on migration. The film follows the journey of a young Haitian artist, dancer, and gay man who migrated across four different countries between the Caribbean, Europe, and North America.
Her company, like the activist and disruptor she is, stands at the intersection of art, activism, politics, and culture.
